Fiachra Meek is an uilleann piper, vocalist and bodhran player from Co.Louth Ireland. He has been playing the pipes for over 3 years and studied music where he recieved tuition from Piper Brendan Mc Creanor and studied lots of different areas of music. He happened to become particularly interested in Irish music.

He comes from a background of amazing musicians and artists including Bill Meek (singer, folk music collector and author) and Diane Hamilton (collector of folk music). He can trace his lineage all the way back to Henry Joy Mc Cracken who took part in a vital role of organising the belfast harp festival in 1792 which was a huge revival for Irish music.

He has travelled all over the world collaborating and performing in front of many different artists. Places he has travelled include Brazil, Germany, North and South California, Kansas and New York. Artists include Melanie O'Reilly, Sean O'Nuallain, Darius Brubeck, Benjamin Jaber and Harry Frank Watters.

He is not only a piper but he is also a singer and a bodhran player. He enjoys singing ballads and up tempo songs along with accompanied bodhran. He is in two bands at the moment that he is the founder of which are under the names Navy Cut and Na Tonnta. Both of these groups are experimental and push the boundries of accompaniment and arrangements of traditional Irish music while sticking to the roots of the music.
